About Computer Science Department

The College has a well-equipped computer lab located on the first floor of the college building campus. The Lab is fully air-conditioned (two units of 1-ton capacity each) with an infrastructure facility to lodge 50 computer systems. Special electrification with UPS power backup is provided for all computers. Fire Extinguisher equipment is also provided to meet the unforeseen eventualities.

Our society is becoming increasingly dependent on technology for every aspect of our lives, from business to social interaction and beyond increasing the demand for graduates in every industry in a wide range of capacities. Owing to the fact that information technology has made an impression in every discipline, most of our graduates acquire solid foundation which paves way for career in multifaceted disciplines.

The computer lab facilitates E-learning and research. We encourage our students to carry out deeper research for their projects. Through this, they can build their hands on experience and upgrade their learning skills. Ample time is allotted to all students along with optimum lab exposure.

AIM

The aim of a computer science department is to equip students with strong problem-solving and programming skills. Departments bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world technology needs. They prepare students for careers in the IT industry, research, or advanced education.

Objectives

 Teach students how to break down hard problems into smaller steps. Students create step-by-step instructions called algorithms to tell the computer what to do.
 Ensure students can write, test, and fix computer code in popular languages like Python or Java.
 Teach how physical computer parts (like processors and memory) work together with software.
 Train students to store, organize, and study large amounts of data to make smart choices. Think of data like a giant digital library; data science is the system used to find the right book instantly.
 Educate students about computer security, privacy, and how to use technology in a fair and safe way.

Equipments

The Labs are equipped with two IBM Servers with 160 nodes connected through Local Area network which interconnected with OFC internet connections, Wireless connection through Cyber am Firewall. The other facility provided by the lab includes CCTV Surveillance Monitoring System, Audio Visual Setup, Scanning and Printing among others.
